How to cancel your wedding
You must notify us in writing, as soon as possible, if something prevents you from going through with the wedding and you need to cancel.
Continue reading below for additional information on cancellation of church weddings and town hall weddings.
After we have received and processed your application, it will be dealt with by the Danish Agency of Family Law and so Magical Weddings accepts no responsibility for supplying or dealing with any additional documentation they require, although we will of course support you about next steps.
Note that no refunds will be made for applications that are cancelled.

Church weddings
Your booking is confirmed once we have received a 700 Euro deposit, which is non-refundable.
The full amount must be paid no later than a month prior to the wedding date, unless we have specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
If the wedding is cancelled less than 2 weeks before the date, the full amount paid is non-refundable.
Should the Danish State Administration (Statsforvaltningen) fail to process your application, or should the Wedding Office fail to confirm the wedding date that you requested, we will of course offer to move your wedding package to the earliest possible date.
At this point, we will not be able to provide a refund.
Once you send the documents and then cancel before we submit the application to the wedding office, and confirm the booking of the church, we will only charge you a fee of 300 euro.
town hall weddings
For a Town Hall wedding, the deposit of 600 euro is non-refundable once your documents have been submitted to the Danish Wedding Office.
Please pay the remaining either at your arrival for the wedding or by bank transfer or Wise and forward a copy of the receipt 2 days before your wedding.

Once you send the documents and then cancel before we submit the application to the Wedding Office, we will charge you a fee of 300 euro.
Note that no refunds will be made for applications that are cancelled.
For change of Wedding location from one Town Hall to another, the fee for the transfer is 50 €.
Cancellation Policy
You are responsible for reading the information we provide on our website and in our documentation . We cannot be held responsible for delays outside our control and we reserve the right to ask you for more documentation, etc., at any stage of your application. If you decide to cancel our service, no refund will be made if Magical Weddings has already sent you the application to AFL.
Magical Weddings does pay the administration fee for the Danish Agency for Family Law (AFL). The administration fee is non-refundable. This will also apply if you decide to terminate your application, decide not to get married during the application validity period and/or if AFL decides to close or reject your application.
For all our levels of service, please note that we cannot be held liable for any actions or delays caused by AFL. They reserve the right to request additional documentation and undertake investigations at any time during the application process.
If you decide to terminate our services after Magical Weddings has sent you the Documents’ List, we will refund €300 if we have not yet submitted your application to AFL. No refund will be payable if we have already submitted your application.
Wish to change your wedding date?
You can of course change your wedding date. Though, it is very important that you notify us as soon as you become aware that you need to reschedule your big day.
- With more than 7 days notice, a fee of 150 € is payable.
- With less than 7 days notice, a fee of 200 € is payable.
